In an extraordinary gesture, Councilwoman Leslie Pool stands up...calling out the city's mishandling of the Amazon pursuit. Read all about it in today's Austin American-Statesman:

"Council member:  City, chamber mishandling Amazon pursuit."

What does this have to do with finishing the petition drive for the right to vote on CodeNEXT? Two things:

1.  The promoters of CodeNEXT will only talk about supply -- need for more housing. They never talk about how the growth policies of the City of Austin are driving demand -- for which we can never catch up.

2.  We're about to complete this petition drive (with your help, please!) so we can get on to the big picture.

PLEASE NOTE: Community Not Commodity came out with this very constructive analysis of the third draft of CodeNEXT, "CodeNEXT Is Beyond Repair". CNC even provides an alternative. That would be to take CodeNEXT down and bring people together across the city. We, the people with the experts, not the political operatives -- can do a new land development code that makes sense for Austin and the region.

But, in the meantime, you might want to continue taking your city back, Austin!

Join us for Parks Day tomorrow -- Saturday, March 3.
And, Monday 7 to 9 pm for our "Tune-In, Turn-in" meeting with Bill Aleshire.

Or just go on out and get some signatures. All you need is here or contact us!

Independently yours, Austin!

PS We never told you 10-1 was going to solve the problem of the tail (the hyper-growth promoters) wagging the dog -- the city of Austin. That is our next task.
